Security Officer
Western Health seeks experienced Security Industry Professional who wish to join a dynamic team at the forefront of providing a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
We are seeking a permanent part time Security Officer available to work across our sites at Sunshine, Williamstown, and Bacchus Marsh and Melton Hospitals. The successful applicant will have experience in a security leadership role as this role requires some team leader shifts to be performed as part of the roster pattern.

In order to be successful, you will have:
- Successful completion of the Security Guard Unarmed Guard Certificate II course
- Victorian Private Security Individual Licence
- A current Working with Children Check – Employee Status
- A current Workplace First Aid Certificate
- A current Drivers Licence
- Current knowledge of Victorian legislation relevant to your role as a Security Officer
- Current knowledge of emergency equipment such as Fire Extinguishers
- The ability to focus on customer service when dealing with staff, patients and visitors
- A strong personal work ethic, initiative and service orientation
- A courteous and professional manner
- Demonstrated skill in communicating effectively with people
- A willingness to work under the direction of nursing employees and Management
- An ability to work as a team member in a multidisciplinary environment
- An ability to work in a self-directed manner and prioritise workload
- English literacy and numeracy skills in line with the competency requirements for Certificate II in Security Guarding
- Ability to maintain accurate and concise documentation
- A high level of physical fitness and personal presentation
- Competence in operation of PCs and the ability to use the Outlook, Word, Excel programs
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment
- Previous experience with Security Systems (CCTV and Access Control)
- Previous experience with Emergency Equipment (Fire Panel)
- Multi-Lingual
