About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Specialist Medical Inpatient Services team. Specifically, this service provides consultancy to several wards including the acute general medical and surgical units, coronary care, and sub-specialty medical and surgical services.

We are particularly looking for clinicians who have experience in public sector health settings. Experience in the training, mentorship and supervision of early career Psychologists will be advantageous.

 

Key responsibilities:

This position/s involves using your well consolidated skills and expertise to provide best care to the patients of the West, working alongside Allied Health, Nursing and Medical staff. In this role, you will also collaborate with other Psychologists in the broader Specialist Medical Inpatient Service – which includes Neuropsychology, Health Psychology and Clinical Psychology.

 

You will be part of the expanding psychology team who provide holistic patient-centred care, delivering excellent patient outcomes, and providing evidence-based practice. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and strategic direction within the team and be involved in research and quality improvement activities, while collaborating with other senior clinicians. You will receive supervision from Grade 4 Psychologists and be well supported in developing your clinical, leadership, supervision, and research skills. Grade 3 Psychologists at Western Health also contribute to our Education and Training programs in collaboration with the Psychology Education Team.

  • Bring a sense of calm and stability whilst working with clients with complex health conditions within diverse and dynamic clinical settings.
