Senior Clinical Psychologist
An opportunity currently exists for a Senior Clinical Psychologist (Grade 3) to work within the Psychology Specialist Medical Inpatient Services at Western Health. Specifically, this service provides consultancy to several wards including the acute general medical and surgical units, coronary care, and sub-specialty medical and surgical services. This is an ongoing permanent part-time role (0.4 FTE; 15.2 hrs).
The Senior Clinical Psychologist will work alongside Allied Health, Nursing and Medical staff, to provide Best Care for the community of the West. In this role, you will also work alongside other Psychologists in the broader Specialist Medical Inpatient Service – which includes Neuropsychology, Health Psychology and Clinical Psychology.
In this role you will play a key clinical role in providing highly skilled psychological assessment, individual and group interventions, and psychoeducation, and work alongside a team of passionate and highly skilled Psychologists at Western Health. Depending on your experience, support of postgraduate trainees on fieldwork placement, and Psychology Registrars will also be required.

- Commitment to a Psychology Service that promotes an evidence-based, best practice culture, and supports continuous service improvement.
- Can think quickly and broadly whilst triaging new referrals.
- Utilise the full spectrum of your psychological training and expertise to assess clients’ psychological needs.
- Liaise with the treating team and relevant other parties effectively and regularly.
- Contribute personally to the team culture.
- Contribute flexibly, creatively and enthusiastically to initiatives for ongoing improvement; and
- Bring a sense of calm and stability whilst working with clients with complex health conditions within diverse and dynamic clinical settings.
