Senior Medical Workforce Coordinator

Employment Type: Full-Time – Monthly ADO + Five Weeks Leave
Starting Salary: HS3 - $74,448.00 + Super

Western Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to take on this vital role. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-paced, mission-driven health service supporting over 2,000 medical staff across our hospitals and services.
As a key member of the Medical Workforce Unit, you will coordinate the end-to-end processes for recruitment, credentialing, contracting and onboarding of our Medical Staff.
Working closely with clinical and operational leaders, this role is pivotal to ensuring a highly competent and supported medical workforce across Western Health.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Located in Footscray you will be leading the administration of recruitment, appointment and credentialing processes for doctors
- Managing medical employment contracts, credentialing systems (including Cgov), and onboarding documentation
- Ensuring compliance with HR, medical registration and visa requirements
- Acting as the key liaison for medical queries related to operations, workforce, HR and payroll.
About You:
We are looking for a customer orientated person who thrives in a complex and busy environment and brings a strong background in:
- Healthcare workforce coordination such as medical recruitment, HR administration or Doctor credentialing
- Building strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
- Delivering accurate, high-quality work under pressure
- Strong operational skills and a warm, friendly presence to help foster a supportive and positive team culture.
Your Skills and Experience (preferred):
- Extensive administration experience, preferably within healthcare or medical workforce
- Familiarity with medical systems and standards
- Sound understanding of recruitment principles and industrial frameworks
- High attention to detail and a passion for system improvement
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills
- Qualifications in HR, Health administration or a related field
About the Department:
The Medical Workforce Unit (MWU) is a dynamic, high-impact team that plays a pivotal role in supporting over 2,000 doctors across our growing health service. The unit provides both strategic direction and hands-on operational expertise in all areas of medical workforce management, including workforce planning, recruitment, credentialing, contracting, rostering and onboarding.
Team members are part of a specialised team that works closely with hospital leadership, clinical departments and external partners to support the future of healthcare delivery in Melbourne’s West.
