Roster: Full-time, rotating roster across seven days (morning and afternoon shifts).

 

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our Acute Community Intervention Service (ACIS) in Melbourne's Western suburbs.

This role combines direct clinical care within the ACIS function with the management of a small, targeted caseload of consumers, providing opportunities to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic community setting. Rotating roster shifts are morning and evening over the 7-day week based at Harvester Clinic in Sunshine.

 

As a senior clinician, you will play a pivotal leadership role, fostering team capacity and demonstrating advanced clinical expertise in community mental health care. You will also champion values of kindness, open communication, and excellence in clinical practice, setting a positive example for your colleagues.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, consumer-focused care through advanced clinical assessment, intervention, and support.
  • Provide leadership to team members, promoting a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Actively contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and development initiatives.
  • Effectively coordinate care by advocating for consumers and collaborating with their families/carers and external providers.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of individuals with mental illness or psychiatric disability.
  • Proven expertise in acute mental health functions, including crisis assessment and intervention.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
  • Strong commitment to consumer-centred care and service delivery.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in documenting clinical decisions across multiple digital platforms.
