About the role

The Senior Clinician has a key leadership role in the provision, organisation and continued development of continence physiotherapy in our Outpatient service. Through their clinical expertise the Senior Clinician will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in client care, promotion of quality, education of staff and students, and team and program development.

 


The successful candidate will be a flexible, team player who has an ability to assess and manage complex continence related pathologies in a timely manner. Responsibilities include managing a varied caseload and acting as a clinical resource and mentor for junior staff and students.

 


The Senior Clinician will collaborate closely with the nursing, medical and continence physiotherapy staff to monitor, evaluate and develop the Continence service, and ensure organisational targets and key performance indicators are met. This clinician will have experience in the implementation of quality and workforce innovation projects and their robust evaluation. As part of the senior physiotherapy team the staff member will have a key role in linking with other services within Western Health to facilitate client-centred care.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide expert physiotherapy assessment and treatment
  • education to staff and patients
  • conducts outpatient pelvic health assessment- all whilst supporting, educating and mentoring other staff with limited experience in pelvic health.
  • Communication across a vast stakeholder network is paramount to ensure connected care that is evidence based and cohesive across services.

 

About you:

  • A background which includes significant clinical experience resulting in high level of skill in Pelvic Health-Continence physiotherapy
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications in Continence and/or Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care
  • Demonstrated sound clinical skills based on practice wisdom
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and promote evidence-based practice
  • Possesses practical negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated leadership within a multidisciplinary team and promotion of interprofessional practice
