About the role:

Western Health is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Senior Pharmacist – Women’s and Children’s Services to provide senior clinical leadership and drive excellence in medication management across the Women’s and Children's Division.

 

This co-lead role offers the opportunity to influence clinical practice, lead quality and safety initiatives, and support the professional development of pharmacists working in women’s, children’s, and neonatal services.

 

This position is permanent, full-time (80 hours per fortnight) and available now!

 

Key responsibilities:

As Senior Pharmacist – Women’s and Children’s Services, you will:

  • Deliver expert clinical pharmacy services within women’s, children’s, and neonatal services.
  • Lead and support pharmacists through supervision, coaching, and performance development, ensuring high standards of practice and professional growth.
  • Contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures, guidelines, and medication protocols to support safe medication management for women, children, and neonates.
  • Collaborate with key medical, nursing, and allied health stakeholders to improve patient outcomes through excellence in medication management.
  • Engage in education, training, quality improvement and research, and departmental development activities to advance practice and support workforce capability.

 

About you:

You are an experienced hospital pharmacist with:

  • At least five years of diverse hospital clinical experience, with demonstrated expertise in women’s, children’s and/or neonatal pharmacy practice.
  • Excellent clinical judgement, up-to-date medication knowledge and a strong commitment to evidence-based care.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and support pharmacy staff within a dynamic clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and teamwork skills.
  • Proven experience in quality improvement, governance, and service development.
