Sessional Specialist Gynaecologist

About the role 

The Women’s & Children’s Division of Western Health invites applications from specialist gynaecologists for a sessional fixed term appointment at Bacchus Marsh, Western Health until 1st of February 2026.

The sessions are for general gynaecology operating and are available on Friday Week 2 all day & Friday week 4 PM session in a 4-week theatre cycle.

 

Key responsibilities: 

This position would suit experienced clinicians who are able to contribute to our specialist gynaecology team.

  • The roles involve gynaecology surgical lists and teaching and training of junior medical staff.
  • The service is a training centre for Fellowship of The Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist and is supported by 25 registrars and 30 HMOs or Senior HMOs.
  • With an expressed aim of becoming the best O&G training centre in Australia, experience in supporting trainees and ensuring their advancement would be valuable.

The sessional appointee(s) will report to the HOU Gynaecology or Clinical Services Director.

 

About you:

  • Medical qualification - FRANZCOG
  • Current Australian medical registration with AHPRA
  • Relevant clinical experience and clinical competence required for level of position
