The Division of Cancer, Cardiology & Specialty Medicine is actively seeking a dynamic clinician to join us as the Smoking Cessation Clinical Nurse Consultant.

 

This pivotal role will support and optimally manage the needs of lung cancer patients to stop smoking through comprehensive care including counselling and provision of supportive medication in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team.

 

The Smoking Cessation Clinical Nurse Consultant is the point of contact for referrals, management, and administration for the Supported STOP (Smoking Telehealth Outpatient) Program which is a tailored nursing led telehealth clinic.

 

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will work within the area of specialisation team in the supervision, implementation and management of the specialist services and related strategic planning at Western Health.

 

As a member of a specialist team the CNC will provide expert and evidence-based direction to ensure service standards and practices related to their area of expertise are maintained and improved across all services of Western Health.

 

To be Successful in this Role, you will possess:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Experience working in a senior clinical role (CNS or above)
  • Have completed or be working towards a Post Graduate Diploma in area of specialty (Oncology)
  • Demonstrated project management experience including recruitment, data collection (quantitative outcome reporting), survey evaluation (qualitative outcome reporting) and record keeping
  • Completion or willingness to complete Smoking Cessation and Communication Workshop
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality consumer care and possession of excellent clinical skills
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively independently and also within a multidisciplinary team environment with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated time management, organisation and planning skills

 

This position is offered on a fixed term, part-time (0.2 EFT) basis, with the possibilty of increased EFT and extension at the end of the pilot.
