Social Worker - Grade 2

About the role:
We are now seeking a dynamic Social Worker to join our Specialised Rehabilitation Program (SRP) team in a part-time (68.4hrs/fortnight) permanent capacity.
This Grade 2 Social Worker role will provide high-quality social work services within a community-focused, multidisciplinary team, supporting patients across the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Key responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for the provision of a Social Work service as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Specialised Rehabilitation Program across Sunshine and Williamstown Hospitals. There may be a requirement to provide assistance across both sites depending on demand. They will have a leading role in ensuring best practice and excellence in SRP.
The Grade 2 Social Worker is responsible for developing staff and students, including supervision, training and supporting co-ordination of student placements and tutorials. They will also be involved with the wider Western Health Social Work service. The Grade 2 Social Worker will undertake other tasks and responsibilities within the scope of practice as requested.
About you:
- Bachelor/Masters of Social Work degree and eligibility for AASW membership
- Minimum 3 years professional social work experience, preferably in a hospital/community health care setting
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and electronic communication skills
- Demonstrates a sound understanding of a broad range of theoretical frameworks, including trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented practice, human rights, and social justice principles
- Understands the impact of mental illness on families and carers, including those from diverse communities
- Knowledge of, and participation in, continuous quality improvement processes and commitment to clinical research
