Social Worker - Grade 2

About the role:
An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Grade 2 Social Worker to join the Western Health Social Work Department in a full-time ongoing role. Working within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment, you will apply your clinical expertise to deliver person-centred care, undertaking complex assessments and providing innovative and evidenced based interventions with patients and families.
You will contribute to meaningful service improvement and research activities, while also growing your own career through ongoing learning and development opportunities — and shaping the next generation of social workers through clinical supervision and mentoring of junior staff and students
Key responsibilities:
- Provide a timely response to referrals, through performing evidence based clinical services using a person-centred approach in the development of an appropriate treatment plan
- Demonstrate independent clinical reasoning and clinical competencies, including expertise in use of relevant assessment tools, treatment methods, and case management skills
- Participate in research and service improvement activities
- Provide high quality clinical supervision to junior staff and students as required, that is timely, flexible and responsible
About you:
- Bachelor/Masters of Social Work degree and eligibility for AASW membership
- Minimum 3 years professional social work experience, preferably in a hospital/health care setting
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and electronic communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Current Working with Children Check
