Speech Pathologist - Grade 1

About the role
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Grade 1 clinician to join the Western Health Speech Pathology Department. This rotational position offers an exciting opportunity to upskill in clinical care across diverse settings in the acute, subacute and community adult streams. You will become a valued member of our highly skilled Speech Pathology team and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will have access to a robust supervision framework and opportunities to contribute to quality improvement initiatives, underpinned by Western Health’s strong commitment to learning and development.
This is a full-time, ongoing position.
Key responsibilities:
- Assess and manage dysphagia and communication impairment within the acute, subacute and community settings
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Be committed to continuous quality improvement, clinical research and professional development
- Ensure safe and high-quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Clinical competency, theoretical knowledge and experience in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders within the acute, rehabilitation and/or aged care sectors
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
