We are seeking a passionate and driven Grade 2 Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic Speech Pathology Department on an ongoing basis.

 

Based at Sunshine Hospital, this role offers an exciting opportunity to upskill in complex clinical care in the acute setting with a focus on Stroke and Neurology and to deliver ASSIST Dysphagia Screening Tool education with nursing and medical staff. You will work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment, provide staff supervision and clinical education and have opportunity to participate in quality improvement initiatives.

 

This position is:

  • Full time 

  • Ongoing

 

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have highly developed clinical skills to assess and manage dysphagia and communication impairment within the acute setting

  • Work effectively as part of the speech pathology and multidisciplinary teams  

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Provide clinical supervision to staff and/or students  

  • Contribute to quality improvement and professional development  

  • Ensure safe and high-quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies
