Speech Pathologist - Grade 2

About the role:

Are you a Speech Pathologist with an interest in managing communication and dysphagia in the community setting? Do you have a passion to help people from diverse backgrounds?

We have an incredible role for an enthusiastic and experienced Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic Specialised Rehabilitation Program (community rehabilitation) team at Western Health.

You will develop your clinical leadership skills through a range of opportunities like supervising Allied Health Assistants, a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist and students, as well as involvement in quality improvement initiatives and large research projects.

Key responsibilities:

The role involves the management of a complex caseload, working as part of a highly skilled well supported multidisciplinary team.

You will see a variety of patients presenting with stroke, traumatic or acquired brain injury, Parkinson’s disease and other conditions.

You will be encouraged to take on quality and service portfolios and be supported by the Allied Health workforce development program to meet your short- and long-term career goals.

About you: 

• Experience in providing goal- oriented rehabilitation to clients with a range of neurological and non-neurological conditions
• Experience supervising grade 1 staff and/or Allied Health Assistants or students.
• Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in undertaking quality improvement activities
• Experience or ability to quickly develop skills in delivering patient care via telehealth (Health Direct platform)
