About the role

Are you a Speech Pathologist wanting to lead a growing acute team in Melbourne’s west? An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Grade 3 Speech Pathologist to join our collaborative and supportive Speech Pathology and Western @ Home departments. Based at Williamstown Hospital, you will have clinical leadership of inpatient subacute and community services across Western Health. As an integral member of the leadership team, you will promote creativity, team effectiveness and evidenced based patient care.    

 

Key responsibilities:

·         Assess and manage dysphagia and communication impairment within the subacute and community setting   

·         Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team  

·         Lead clinical supervision of staff and students  

·         Be committed to continuous quality improvement, clinical research and professional development of self and others  

·         Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies.  

 

About you:

·         Hold a Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent which allows eligibility for membership to Speech Pathology Association of Australia  

·         Have a minimum of seven years’ experience in the rehabilitation and/or aged care setting

·         Have highly developed interpersonal, written and electronic communication skills

·         Are an engaged leader with experience leading staff and students
