About the role

An opportunity exists for an experienced paediatric senior Speech Pathologist to join our Speech Pathology Department. Based at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s at Sunshine Hospital, this position will provide clinical leadership of paediatric services at Western Health within the inpatient and outpatient setting. As a part of the leadership team in Speech Pathology and Paediatric Allied Health, you will promote creativity, team effectiveness and evidenced based patient care.  

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership within paediatric Speech Pathology
  • Provide leadership in collaboration with other discipline seniors within paediatric Allied Health
  • Assess and manage neonates, infants and young children with complex feeding and developmental delay in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Ensure safe and high quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies

 

About you:

  • Strong leadership skills, including proven interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expertise in the assessment and management of complex paediatric communication and swallowing disorders
  • Experience in infant and neonatal feeding, management of children presenting with autism spectrum disorders and other complex multidisciplinary needs
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise staff and students
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement, clinical research and professional development of self and others
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
